While the event was all about raising funds for educating boys, the atmosphere at a recent Neiman Marcus’s fashion show was anything but. From the well turned out women in the audience, to the reed like models and the decidedly more feminine and frisky attire being shown, the evening was all about the XX segment of the population.
The swanky store’s fashion director, Ken Downing, had attendees in ‘stiches’ with his humorous take on the models, the clothing, the music being piped in, life in general, and a few raucous asides about himself in particular.
The occasion, “Old Bags Night Out,” brought out a cadre of supporters for Boys Latin of Philadelphia Charter School and its staunchest supporter, Janine Yass of Haverford. The evening a well deserved ode to her involvement at the school.
Neiman’s put on a top notch event. Every seat with a great view of the models, enticing hors d’oeuvres (small enough to pass even the lips of these lithe ladies), just a sip or two of Champagne and the knowledge the evening is a leg up for some deserving students.
