mens ralph lauren polo GPD helps kids shop for back to school gear
(WNCT) Some lucky kids in Greenville spent Saturday morning preparing for the 2015 school year with a shopping spree. The “Shop with a Cop” event was sponsored by The Rotary Club and hosted 39 children from the Eastern North Carolina community.
Officers helped children pick out new clothes and shoes to start the school year off on the right foot. The group found many great back to school outfits at J. C. Penny’s at the Greenville Mall. Many cops say they wanted to be a part of the event to reinforce positive relationships with the community.
“It just an opportunity to come out and spend some time with the kids, do some back to school shopping,” says Sgt. Mike Broadwell with the Greenville Police Department.
Many of the officers involved also interact with the kids during an athletic program that lasts throughout the school year.
